Historical Background
The original farmhouse and shed were built from mud bricks in the early nineteenth century, and housed the first school in Wellington. Over the years each generation has added their touch, resulting in a pleasant mix of old and new architecture.
The many magnificent old oak trees attest to the foresight of the pioneers who planted and tended them. Along with the old schuur, they are remnants of a bygone era.
