The
farm consists of approximately 10 hectares of fertile
alluvial soil along the river, and 37 hectares of steep
land running up towards the mountain.
The
location protects it from the southeasterly wind, and
has a microclimate suitable for a variety of fruit and
nut trees which are normally not grown in the Cape.
The
implementation of organic methods of agriculture helps
to maintain the balance of nature and ensures the production
of high quality fruit without damaging the environment.
This
has resulted in an increase in the bird and animal life.
The farm is a haven for a wide variety of species which
are rare in the surrounding area.
The
farm is certified Organic by DEBIO,
Registration No. DEBIO20288 |
